When I edit a post I have made (which I usually wish to do, upon seeing the post and thinking what could be said better), I click the ‘Edit Post’ button, make the edits and improvements, and then click that big blue button underneath the text input area ‘Reply to topic’, only to have my edits disappear: its the wrong button, you have to use the ‘Save Edit’ button which is way over to the right and non-obvious colored. I know this, and yet, I keep pushing the wrong button. The blue button ‘Reply to Topic’ looks like what I should be pushing visually, its the brightly colored button, and its where I expect the action button to be placed. It really should not be shown in this context as we are already in the ‘Topic’. ‘Edit post’ should work like ‘Reply to topic’ currently works, with the ‘Save’ and ‘Cancel’ buttons directly underneath the text edit box, and the ‘Reply to topic’ button above the box, not below it. I don’t think the web designers of Gigapan.org have used their product layout- for instance, why is this text input box so narrow, its a fixed width page, and it only allows for maybe 20% of the fixed width, reserving 80% for grey box and thus not allowing the posts author to see much of their post without using the edit box’s scroll bar? Please, if you wish to make for a vibrant forum community, do some edits on the user interface;) seriously I just edited this post and almost pushed the wrong button again!!!!, and its fresh in my head on the topic at hand, and I still can’t do it right!!! |

I do exactly the same thing Jason and agree 100%. A quick fix is to not display the Reply button at all when editing a post. 661 |

Totally agree too! I’ll see if we can get a fix for this sent in for testing this week. |
