I have 0.4.3865 and can’t help but think there’s been an update since 2009. I can’t find one, nor does the stitcher software have an update checker. Is there someplace to find an update? |

I have 1.0.0805. I think it’s the latest. Too bad the website doesn’t list the latest release number. |

Just a quick leak before the official announcement slated for end of January 2012, Stitcher 2.0 is in the final stages of beta, faster and with new advanced features. |

Will the new version be able to stitch the truly large gigapans? I’ve had it stitch 3000 image gigapans, but not much higher than that. The last gigapan I did with 6048 images had to be done in AutopanoGiga for that reason. |

Re the question: HUGE GIGAPANS – HOW BIG CAN STITCH HANDLE? Number of input images is the big factor. 64-bit XP or Vista or Windows 7 should allow about 2000 input images, as does Mac. 32-bit Windows XP can handle about 1000 input images. The largest number of images I’ve seen someone stitch successfully with GigaPan Stitch (version 1.0) is 2600 images. Number of pixels is less of a limiting factor than number of input images, but the largest gigapan in number of pixels that I’ve seen done with Stitch is 20.5 gigapixels. I believe that as long as your computer has at least about 4GB of RAM, adding more memory to it won’t affect your stitching time significantly. If you’ve stitched more than 2600 images with Stitch, please let me know. I plan to improve Stitch to handle many more images in coming months. -Paul GigaPan Stitch developer |
