Food is a big attraction at this annual event, especially the smoked turkey legs. I know there are at least 3 of them in this pan. Can anyone find them? Single row, handheld, Canon T2i with 28-135mm set to 30mm, shooting while scanning quickly to the right at about 1 FPS in order to try and capture a scene with movi...

The Superstition Mountains form the backdrop for this annual event in the desert east of Phoenix. In the center of the parking lot cars are baking in the 85 degree sun. It's only March and still pretty cool. ;-) Single row, handheld, Canon T2i with 28-135mm set to 73mm.

The Superstition Mountains form the backdrop for this annual event in the desert east of Phoenix. A few weeks back they were dusted with snow, but recent 80+ temperatures have melted it all. Single row, handheld, Canon T2i with 28-135mm set to 70mm.

Viewed from my hotel window on the 11th floor of this new resort and casino, the sun has just broken through above the Superstition Mountains. Not much detail visible at this early hour, but the colors are pretty dramatic.

The "hounds" get ready to launch. The "hare" has already taken off and will eventually be caught by the red-orange balloon "Spirit" on the right. Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino are to the right.

Along the road that takes you to Red Rock Crossing in front of Cathedral Rock are two viewpoints that provide a great perspective on the red rocks south of the center of Sedona. Here the soil is the same color as the deepest rust color of the rock formations.

Well hidden behind cottonwood trees lies Oak Creek as it passes by the cedar shingled L'Auberge de Sedona Resort. Eventually, that same water flows into the Verde River and then the Salt River, passing right through Phoenix before it connects into the Gila River that goes all the way to Yuma and the Colorado River. Off...
