vol 3 issue 1 Taken from a rock cliff on the top of the Vishnu Schist overlooking our party's boats at Lower Bass Camp, a place that was the actual surface of the Earth at least 210 million years ago, if not 1.2 billion years ago. Just before shooting this image, I had spotted a Chuckwalla lizard, a huge North American iguana. I was hoping that he would be caught by the camera when he came back out. I haven't found him in the rocks yet, but maybe you will. This was the first stop on our morning hike from camp on our layover day at Lower Bass Camp.
You can Zoom into our favorite camp in the entire Grand Canyon in even higher resolution at Grand Canyon GigaView #23 Over Lower Bass - Pano - gigapan.org/gigapans/49235/
