This image was taken on Canon 7D with 400mm f5.6 and 2X tele-converter. Another image taken on the same day can be found at

I didn't use tele-converter in the smaller version. This is a large image, despite its size, there is a major problem due to inconsistent sun light. Since I shot the image in the row first order, the lighting change caused the obvious color strips in the image

Did you notice the raven in flight, just above the Chopsticks photo? Very nice photo!

Same as my other images, it is stitched on a dual Xeon quad-core system (8 cores) with 32G of memory and 6T of hard drive space

Awesome Gigapan. Out of curiosity what are your PC specs like? This must have taken some computing power/time to produce?!!

Wow, bravo!!! This is fantastic.

I think to get the ultimate image quality, I need to use larger lens such as 800mm f5.6 or 600mm f4. In both cases, the only panorama head that can handle the weight is clauss radeon hd. The price though is prohibitive. With the same equipment, I think there are other things to be improved. you may want to anticipate a much bigger image coming. It's 1/1000 thumbnail is available at www.gigapan.org/gigapans/61595/

This is a very nice accomplishment and great image! The image detail is actually justifiable on the image size, I get more information as I zoom in all the way, you do not seem to have surpassed the resolving power of your lens significantly.

cool~ You really did it.
