The Sangro Valley Project (SVP), managed by Oberlin College (USA) in collaboration with Oxford University (UK) and the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici dell’Abruzzo, is a multi-disciplinary team of specialists from Canada, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The SVP (see www.sangro.org ) aims to achieve a holistic understanding of the Sangro River Valley’s past and modern landscapes (c. 10,000 BC to AD 2000) and the human activities that took place within them. This research incorporates both intensive and extensive survey, excavation, and ancient landscape and environmental reconstruction, at different elevations and in the many diverse microenvironments that exist within Italy's Sangro River Valley.
