- Katherine Morris Boivin Thomas Paterson St. Jakob Rothenburg ob der Tauber Late Gothic Architecture Church Interior
- Description
-
St. Jakob in Rothenburg follows a plan unusual for Late Gothic churches that has an apse at both the east and west ends. This 360 degree panorama, taken from the nave, starts in the northeast and captures both the east and west ends (though the later is largely blocked by the organ). In the fifteenth century, St. Jakob served as the church of the local commandry of the German Order, as the city's parish church, and as a pilgrimage destination.
