Description

Both of the girls enjoyed this and I did too. They picked the pose themselves, which is always cool.

I believe that I had the Leica set properly on exposure lock, but as you can see, there are some hot spots in the sky... so much so that a great amount of the pano was eliminated as unacceptable.. leaving only the the good part.

The original plan was to start at the top of Willy and continue to sweep to the current right side.

I will try this later and later in the afternoon to capture the colors that are so beautiful.

Today was the first day of 2008 Homecomming and as I walked by this spot, there were Rice Alumni walking by Willy and remembering their time on campus. It kind of gets to you to see the vast age differences but everybody was having a great time and enjoying friends not-seen-for-years and the weather.

Dr Schott's gigapan of Mount Rushmore has a sky color to die for. I wish I had post-processing technique, but it is very difficult to do properly and is very time consuming. www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id= 10462. My compliments to his effort. As I was taking this pano, there were a number of medical helicopters flying over Sewall Hall on their approach to the Texas Medical Center, however, none appears in this pano and unfortunately, I do not see the rising moon somewhere in the trees on the east side of the pano. Maybe another day I will capture more happenings in the sky, but right now, I have to do better so that this sky quality never appears in another pano of mine.
