In Wettswil befinden sich zwei Weiher, je einer auf jeder Seite der Bahnlinie. Sie wurden ausgehoben zur Gewinnung von Torf und Lehm. Der Torf wurde als Brennstoff verwendet, der Lehm als Rohstoff für die Ziegelherstellung. Die Weiher sind Naturschutzgebiete von überregionaler Bedeutung.
At Wettswil (Kanton Zurich, Switzerland) there are two ponds called "Ziegeleiweiher" which means "Ponds of the brick manufacture". They are located at the left and the reights side of the raiilways. Mosses and brickearth have been taken out. The mosses were burnt, the brickearth used to fabricate bricks. The two ponds are protected areas.
