Description

A huge cut is being dug in the ridge of Pinkerton Horn to "daylight" the CSX railroad tunnel, to allow taller rail cars to use the line. Huge piles of rock and dirt from the cut at image top left are being dumped on the top of the clearcut ridge, visible at image top center. This is a 360 degree view from the Pinkerton high bridge, which was built for the Western Maryland Railway and is today used by the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail.
