A low-resolution view of the western of the twin sinkholes (collapsed magma chambers), called Los Gemelos, in the highlands of Santa Cruz. This panorama was taken manually with a tripod-mounted camera. Wide-angle lens at 14mm (35mm equivalent is 22mm). Compare to the high-resolution panorama taken with the GigaPan robot.
This is part of an effort to evaluate the use of high-resolution panoramic photography (HRPP) for environmental monitoring in Galapagos. This work was partially funded by Galapagos Conservancy (galapagos.org
) and is part of the GigaPan Education and Research Program.
