A low-resolution view of Puerto Ayora taken from the trail to El Puntudo and Cerro Crocker. Linear distance is approximately 8 kilometers from Puerto Ayora. This panorama was taken manually with a tripod-mounted camera. Zoom lens set at 400mm (35mm equivalent is 640mm).
This is part of an effort to evaluate the use of high-resolution panoramic photography (HRPP) for environmental monitoring in Galapagos. This work was partially funded by Galapagos Conservancy (galapagos.org
) and is part of the GigaPan Education and Research Program.
