Rose Garden, Christchurch Botanical Gardens by Ella Derbyshire

Here is an early Spring look at the Rose Garden in the Christchurch Botanical Gardens. We were standing on the balcony of the 2nd floor of the greenhouse, looking almost due South at the various shades of green and red foliage.

It was mid-October in Christchurch. For my friends in the Northern Hemisphere, that means that this photograph was taken in early Spring. Tulips and daffodils were blooming in other parts of the gardens. These rose bushes were green, but the rosebuds were tiny and they were also green. The rose garden will have a very different look in late November.
