Presenter: Zee Ann Poerio, K-8 Computer Teacher at Diocese of PittsburghCo-Presenter: Clara Phillips, Community Outreach Coordinator, Carnegie Mellon University
Room: 1224 – Computer lab
Description:
GigaPan is a collaborative project between Carnegie Mellon University’s CREATE lab and NASA Ames Intelligent Systems Division’s Robotics Group with support from Google. Using gigapixel photography and the internet based GigaPan School Dialogues project, your students will combine cultural inquiry, NASA imaging technology, and social media across the curriculum to experience the life of communities around the world without leaving the classroom. Panoramic photography, robotics, computer technology, and language arts will engage your students, add the “A” for the Arts to give your STEM program STEAM, and support both the National Educational Technology and Common Core Standards.
