- Description

The Golden Gate Bridge spans the mouth of the San Francisco Bay. Built in 1937, the bridge has been traveled by almost two billion cars. In this image you can see Alcatraz Island, Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island in the distance. Also visible is the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge which travels through Yerba Buena.
The photo was taken on Saturday, November 10, 2012 by Brian P. Lawler, assisted by Gary Stine. The weather was perfect, the skies clear, and the late afternoon sunlight was spectacular.
