Re-upload of an enlarged and slightly sharpened 360° Panorama white balanced, stitched and published by NASA/JPL-Caltech/Malin Space Science Systems.
Start-point left is about east.

Hint: for near/medium field observations browse the other panos uploaded (redundant close-area crops with better resolution available) as this NASA version really lacks foreground resolution and washes out interesting small details (except the rover parts). This NASA pano performs partly better in the far field.

    I see you've also noticed that. The 2nd slide after "carving" with what appears to b grey slag more resembles extra cement or concrete that was left over after a "job" and just tossed aside. If anyone had solid proof that it is and could present it online as such, I bet the Govt/NASA would have taken him out (no, I don't mean on a date) before he could make it to the scanner.
