Description

Testing out my quadcopter for aerial surveys. I duct taped a Nokia 808 45 MP cell phone camera to the bottom of the copter to see if I could fly a survey of our new field plot at the National Arboretum. It was a bit too windy and the vibrations made the camera a bit blurry but it came out better than I expected for my first try.

Thanks. I think it was 40 or 50 images. I just taped the phone to the bottom of the quadcopter. The native phone app has a 5-sec interval timelapse so I turned that on and tried to hover in a grid pattern. It was pretty windy so the quadcopter wasn't flying very smoothly and there was no vibration damping on my camera mount since there was no mount just tape. Considering how crappy the whole setup was I think the image turned out pretty well.
