Description

Cloudy day in the centre of The Netherlands, near Nieuwegein. The Lekkanaal (canal from the Amsterdam-Rhine canal to the river Lek) shows low traffic. On the left the 'Plofsluis', a lock that has the ability to loose a load of stones, which will make it unusable for ships to go through. It is part of the Waterlinie, a region where Holland can set underwater in case of an invasion, and is built in the first years of the 20st century.
