Description

A field trial of seven varieties of wheat at Tuckaway Farm. A handheld NDVI sensor (hollandscientific.com/crop-circle-handheld-system Will open in a new tab or window/) was scanning a transect across the seven wheats as I flew a dual camera visible/near-infrared KAP rig overhead. Multispectral images were derived from channels in synchronous pairs of visible and near infrared photos. Each panel is stitched from two 10 MP images.
RGB: Normal color photo from the unmodified camera.
NIR: The photos from the modified near-infrared camera.
NRG: A near-infrared channel from the modified camera is displayed as red, red and green channels from the unmodified camera are displayed as green and blue, respectively.
NDVI: Normalized difference vegetation index. For each pixel, NDVI=(NIR-red)/NIR+red).
