The website www.mustangsoflascolinas.com
/ has all the backstory on this sculpture. I went to Williams Square, where they are located, on a Saturday afternoon It was cold, windy and somewhat cloudy. I tried manual and pano assist settings on my Nikon, but ended up using auto mode for the entire shoot. Because the sun was coming in and out of the clouds exposure lock was more harm than help. Even with auto mode, the tops of some of the horses were over exposed, but I think the overall result is fair. Williams Square has a prohibition against professional photography. I am a definitive amateur, but since tripod==professional for a lot of security, I got in and out as quickly as possible. Not that it is related, but minutes after I left for my next shoot, a private security patrol arrived and stayed around for a few minutes...

Needless to say, the "evil doers" might want to do something terrible to this sculpture if they were allowed to photograph it with a tripod. God help us! Only in America, the land of the "free". Great photo by the way!

I've gotten the same reaction from many individuals. "Oh, you've got a tripod, you must be a professional"
