Florida's SR826-SR836 Interchange Project is beginning to take shape. (Image MF250185-0337_A.psb)
This Gigapan was taken from the Southwest corner of the project, looking NorthEast. The curved bridge (Brigge 11) on the left is fully operational, providing Eastbound SR836 traffic access to SR826 North. The matching bridge on the right (Bridge 15) is not yet open but will provide Westbound SR836 traffic with access to Southbound SR826. The Launching Gantry (sometines called the Smooth Operator), in the upper right of the picture, is in the process of building Bridge 19. This bridge goes over the top of Bridges 11 & 15 and will provide Southbound SR826 traffic with access to SR836 East. The roadway that runs across the lower portion of the picture is Eastbound SR836. The portion of the road at the very bottom left of the picture is Northbound & Southbound SR826. While the elevated bridges being erected by the Launching Gantry are the most spectacular, there are many, many other smaller bridges and roadways being built as part of this 1/2 Billion Dollar Interchange Project which is expected to be completed in early 2015.
