New Singapore National Stadium is a stadium under construction in Kallang, Singapore. It is due to open in 2014 for the Singapore Southeast Asian Games and will have a capacity of 55,000 spectators. It will be the new home of Singapore national football team. It is also set to host some of the matches for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. The site is situated at the old National Stadium, which was closed in 2007 and demolished in 2010. Large scale events such as the National Day Parade are being held at a temporary venue at the Float Stadium @ Marina Bay. The new national stadium will be a part of the Singapore Sports Hub, which consist of the Singapore Indoor Stadium, an Aquatic Centre, as well as a Multi-Purpose Indoor Arena. The stadium will also feature a retractable roof.
