Description

False color infrared orthophoto of part of Lake Warner, MA with patches of waterchestnut (Trapa natans). The orthophoto was stitched in Photoshop from 29 NRG (Near infrared, Red, Green) images (many of which are mostly overlain by others). Each NRG photo was made from channels in a normal RGB photo and a pure infrared photo (730-850 nm) taken simulataneously from a rig lofted by a five foot diameter helium balloon. Waterchestnut patches were identified in the field or by examining these photos and the RGB versions of them (publiclab.org/notes/cfastie/07-25-2013/lake-warner-workflow Will open in a new tab or window).
