- Description
-
Main portion of the enclosed trackway at Dinosaur State Park, Rocky Hill, CT (www.dinosaurstatepark.org
), looking from the bottom upwards. (See the reverse view at gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=13662).
These fossil prints (called Eubrontes) were likely made near the edge of an early Jurassic lake by the predator Dilophosaurus (or a similar species). Some markings in these layers may represent swim tracks (left behind by claws interacting with the mud while the dinosaur is swimming or wading).
