Stars Gas and Dust in the Milky Way Galaxy

This 64 segment mosaic is centered on most densly populated regions of our home galaxy.

Each segment is a 1 hour exposure, imaged remotely from Coonabarabran, NSW, Australia.

Telescope: Takahashi FSQ, 105mm f/4 fluorite refractor
Camera: Fingerlakes Proline 16803, 4096 x 4096 9um array CCD
Filter: clear
Exposure sets: 12 x 300s each segment.
