This is image #2 as a follow up to my Dec. 9 posting of the Hermosa Beach Promenade with christmas tree.
Upon finishing image #1, I found my Nikon P5100 (12mp) battery was exhausted. Instead of ending the shoot, I remembered that I had my other camera in the bag.
I put my Olympus SP350 (8mp) on the GigaPan and proceeded with this image.
(**I recommend to make sure your that along with the Gigapan batteries being all charged, that you check that the camera battery is also fully charged up, or as in this case, have a second camera along to use).
Only 85 images to this image, but it took much longer than the previos shot since it was almost totaly dark.
With my camera set to 'night lighting' each image was 5-10 seconds long, I forgot to set the camera to 'maximum' resolution so the scene was recorded only on 'high' resolution but still held good detail.
I had to pause the GigaPan after each shot so the camera had time to shoot and download each image before moving on to the next. Fortunatly, I didn't skip any shots and even with a stiff breeze I was able to captue the scene with minimal movement in the hanging Christmas lights.
A blustery winter night in Hermosa Beach, California. ©John Post. Enjoy...
