This one is a tad different. Originally 14 x 30 images.
It was done with the E30 with a Vivitar Series 1 600mm f8 catadioptric lens via a Leica T2 adapter to a Leica 2x telextender, giving the equivalent of a 2400mm f16 lens. While this is a very small and compact unit, the sheer focal length makes it difficult to work with. There are some unpleasant artifacts in each element of this one, the result of dust on the filter before the sensor being resolved on the sensor, apparently a one-time failure of the otherwise excellent dust removal system on the E30.
This lens/extender/camera combo needs better light to perform better. This was taken almost at twilight, with the exposure of 1/125th of a second reflecting not only the very small effective aperature, but also the failing light. This will be a major redo candidate to mask out the repititive artfifacts in each element. But it's a start...
