I am trying to do something similar but with wildflowers. I am using Helicon Remote to control my focus settings and I am using my GigaPan Pro, which I set on manual mode. For each image, I have to go through the Auto Focus (near and far) calculations and captures with the Helicon software. It too is quite time consuming as I may have over 100 images in each panorama. As in your photo, my distance to subject is not as critical as it would be in a macro photograph, so I could use the same focus settings for each row if you could save the focus parameters in Helicon Remote. Unfortunately, this feature isn’t available to the best of my knowledge. This would cut my exposure/capture workflow time down from hours to minutes because I would be focusing on only 4 – 6 rows versus 100+ images. Can you accomplish this with Promote Control? I had never heard of this before.
