The South Pole is a world apart from the visual, audio, and color stimuli of daily life on the rest of the planet. It's either light or dark; for six months of the year you don't see the light and during the summer you miss the darkness. It is occupied by the best community of hard-working folks on the planet! To photograph there is always challenging, to say the least. I love these gigapans that attempt to give some sense of the enormous scale of the place. Even with a stitched panorama of 30 pictures you can't get it all in!
