Cannon Cliff is one of the largest cliff faces in the Eastern United States. This mile-long cliff is carved out of the Conway Granite, which is about 180 million years old. Cannon is a popular rock climbing site and you can see several climbers in this image. This gigapan was created by Jim Surette for Beyond Granite: The Geology of Adventure, the second show at the Museum of the White Mountains in Plymouth, New Hampshire. www.plymouth.edu/museum-of-the-white-mountains Will open in a new tab or window/
