Bridge 19 of SR826-SR836 Interchange Project has crossed N.W. 12th street, in the bottom foreground. (Image NA130079-0133_C.Tif) The Launching Gantry has just Launched to Pier 2 after completing the cantilever on Pier 3. Here we are facing east, looking up N.W. 12th Street and our field of view is 180 degrees from North to South. Bridge 19, getting close to completion, will provide access from SR826 South to SR836 East. Bridge 19 is one of four long overhead bridges being constructed by the Launching Gantry, which requires no cranes or other ground support, whereby traffic is allowed to flow freely thru the construction. It is reported that the use of the Launching Gantry construction cut two years off the total construction time for this Interchange Project. These four long overhead bridges will provide the Left Turn capability in all four directions of this Interchange. Two of these bridges, bridge 11 and Bridge 15 are currently in use providing the East to North and West to South left turn accesses. Bridge 19 is nearing completion and one more such bridge will be commenced in a couple of months
