    A note about addresses... Mknelly took several snapshots of addresses painted on debris. AFAIK, these were not there prior to the storm. Since there are few remaining street signs, either homeowners, insurance adjusters, or emergency management personnel have marked many many places with addresses, inspection labels, et al. I took a snapshot of one beach house on the north side of Hwy 87, about 20 feet from the road. Pre-Ike, there were NO beach houses that close to 87 on the north side. I think it blew there during the storm.

    I took it yesterday (01-18-2009). If you live in the Houston region or are traveling there, it is a humbling experience to see Bolivar. We drove only as far as Stingaree Marina & Restaurant and the further east we drove from the ferry landing the worse it got. We stopped at the only gas station I could find open in Crystal Beach. The other's were all hollowed out shells. I asked to use the restroom and she said 'We don't have one. Yet.'

    This is a truly amazing gigapan. I heard that the media did not do a terrific job of showing the aftermath (and incredibly slow recovery) of hurricane ike. Did you take this panorama recently?
