A very atmospheric shot (if you will excuse the pun). I much prefer this kind of image to what I call 'chocolate-box' images - all blue sky and green fields, snow-capped mountains etc. Re the tif file. It is odd that the gigapan stitcher should produce an invalid file. If you have the latest uploader you could send the image data to gigapan. Alternatively, you could try using The Gimp (free trustworthy image editor) to load the file and save it again. I have used this technique to fix images that other programs claim are "invalid" in some respect. The Gimp is pretty robust and very well-tested.
