Description

This gigapixel image shows the north wall of the Nunnery complex at the Haghpat Monastery, Armenia -described as a masterpiece of religious architecture, this UNESCO World Heritage site was a major center of learning in the Middle Ages and was inscribed on the World Heritage list in 1996. As part of our digital heritage survey of the site in 2015, several gigapixel high resolution images were acquired that allow for close-up virtual visitation, study, and sharing of these significant landscape and architectural features.
