Description

An unplanned gigapan. I was spending some time in Queen Square experimenting with different cameras and it dawned on me that my new SD880 was small enough to fit the gp unit properly and so it was able to point vertically upwards. My trusty H7 is too big to do this. So this is my first spherical shot taken with the gp unit.

I have no idea what the grey stripe to the left of centre is. The sun was going in and out but that would have caused the images to darken not go grey surely? Perhaps it is a glitch with the 880? I know the H7 will occasionally take a shot which bears no relation to the settings I have asked it to use.

The stitcher notes say "Exposure: Automatic" but I am sure I locked the AE and the image doesn't show the usual signs of AE on the skyline. It is quite possible I did forget, but in that case this image is another reason to say the SD880 is a great little camera.

Good Job! & a Great Location :) Looks sort of similiar to www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id= 18326, but yours may be better because you have both a Moonrise and a Sunset. This GigaPan with the English Sun reminds me of an earlier GigaPan: www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id= 9168. Maybe it is the latitude of Bath as compared to the latitude of Houston that gives you a better visual of the Sun (more length of air that the light rays go through perhaps). Anxious to see this in Google Earth.
