- Description
-
Outcrop of Jurassic-age conglomerate poking out along the eastern edge of the Guida Farm Conservation Area (Middletown, CT).
These big pieces of sediment were deposited in an alluvial fan that formed along the edge of the Eastern Border fault, which forms one side of the Connecticut River valley.
(And if you're curious why we didn't get much closer.... the big black and red sign in the middle should explain that. Next time, we can ask for permission to tromp around in the woods!)
