Description

This cemetery is located in the old community of Mount Pleasant at the base of the Laurel Mountains. I am always fascinated by old tombstones. I read them and want to know as much about the person as I can. In this cemetery some of the old tombstones and graves have been damaged over the years. Rather than discard the epitaphs someone lined them up in a row near the entrance. You can read each stone and, like me, wonder about the person that the stone represents. Who were they? How did they die? Did they have a good life?
NOTE: I found out later that these stones were from a small cemetery located in another section of the town. They were moved here when that cemetery was dismantled.
The photo was taked with a Leica D-Lux 4 Camera on the GigaPan Epic. It is my first GigaPan.

Grin - you're not the only one . . . I think reading tombstones also reminds us of our own mortality. Seems most of the stones in your picture are children. High infant mortality back in the day. Thanks for the pan . .
