We first saw this painting a year ago of Paul Hugot in the Caillebotte exhibit at the National Gallery in Washington, D.C., so you can imagine our great surprise and delight to walk into one of our favorite MFAH galleries, and BOOM! ... there it is again.
The relationship between Gustave and Paul was simply that Paul bought a large number of Gustave's paintings during Gustave's life.
This painting, from a private collection, is my third Caillebotte Gigapan, and all were taken on visits to MFAH. The paintings are still on display.
