Description

This was taken near sunrise from the top of Mt Washington, in NH. The buildings are part of the Mt Washington Observatory.

The gigapan mount behaved spectacularly in the 5 degree F conditions. I set up a Canon Power Shot on the mount, and the system happily took about 800 pictures over ONE HOUR and didn't even complain of low batteries! I've never had this kind of luck before with technology and the cold!

Nice work! I can't believe how well the batteries performed here! With all the time I spend in the White Mountains myself, I'm glad to have this advantage. Love the shot!

Outstanding. Did you use a mechanical system, or a gigapan camera even? I'm curious if the Gigapan worked well in 5 degree F conditions...

Great panorama! I had a friend who worked at the observatory for several years. Seeing it like this finally gives me a picture to put to his stories of what it was like.
