This gigapan is of personal interest. It is potentially of interest to local people too because it shows that you can see two white horses from Lansdown in Bath - if the air is exceptionally clear as it was when his was taken.
The white horses are carved through the soil to expose the chalk underneath. There are quite a few in this part of the world. I had been looking high and low for a suitable location to take a gigapan that had a white horse, so it was complete surprise to find out you can see one from Bath (and from the wrong side of town to boot). I was completely astonished to see that there is *another* white horse in this shot - thanks Tiga, you have made my day!

All part of the service Marty :-) From your profile I guess you live in Iowa which, if memory serves, doesn't have much in the way of hills to take gigapans from. Are there some tall trees perhaps? Arboreal Gigapanography sounds like a fun new 'extreme' sport.

Interest in the horses is not limited to just locals! Last October my spouse and I spent nearly 2 weeks in London, and the only day trip we took was a coach tour out to Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Bath. The guide pointed out one of the horses in the distance as we whizzed by and I managed to get a shot of it through the window! We got to spend all of about 2 hours in Bath at (of course) the baths and cathedral and surrounding area. We both thought it was a lovely place and next time we get to England we want to return and spend more time there. You are lucky to have such wonderful countryside and interesting architecture to practice your gigapanning on!
