The label " Big Site of France ® " guarantees that the site is protected and managed according to the principles of the durable development, reconciling conservation of the landscape and of " the spirit of places ", quality of the reception of the public, participation of the inhabitants and the partners in the life of the Big Site.

This Label belongs to the State, which put down(deposited) him(it) to the national Institute of the industrial property in 2003. It(he) is managed by the Ministry of the Ecology, the Energy, the durable Development and the Regional development. The creation is a stage important for the gratitude(recognition) of the national politics(policy) led in favour of these landscaped heights - places and of the commitment of communities and the State for their long-term management.

A Label which engages(opens) the administrator

It(he) is attributed(awarded) by the Minister in charge of sites, in the body which manages the Big Site, after opinion of the superior Committee(commission) of sites, perspectives and landscapes, and the Network of the Big Sites of France.

Attributed(awarded) for 6 years, the label can be removed in case of neglect from the commitments of the administrator. A regulation(payment) of custom(usage) of the mark(brand) was established by the MEEDDAT in link with the Network of the Big Sites of France.
