A corner of the Speed River in downtown Guelph Ontario at dusk, June 16 2009.
As a major tributary to the Grand River, the Speed is a Canadian Heritage River (designated in 1994).
This is just upstream from Goldie Mill park - an old wheat mill, flour mill, tannery, distillery and a warehouse - that was destroyed by fire in 1953 but has been maintained as a heritage site by the Grand River Conservation Authority since 1976.
