My thanks to Hexham Abbey for their 'non-commercial use' permission to take this panorama.
This is a 360° panorama of the inside of Hexham Abbey (once described as the finest north of the Alps), showing some of the wonderful details in the ceilings, walls and windows.

fetching snapshots...

Hi Glen I've added a snapshot to show where the camera had its focus and exposure lock set. In effect it is a just short of half way point, with the assumption that it would give enough near areas clarity while anything beyond the mid-point would be in focus anyway. With some subjects its also worth remembering that near objects will show up blur (focus or shake related) more than a distant object, so near a bias to near focus is worth considering generally.

Chris, What was your procedure for determining the optimum focus setting for this gigapan? There seems to be a great difference in distance from the center of the picture to the far ends of the picture, but the entire pictures has sharp focus.
