This image was made with a combination of a Nikon D-300 and a Nikon VR AF-S Nikkor 18-200 mm DX lens mounted on a Gigapan Epic 100. The camera/lens combination fits on the Epic 100 snugly. The combination was mounted on a Benbo 2 tripod. That may seem like a lot of tripod, but with the camera, lens and Gigapan a substantial tripod is necessary to control shake from the movement of the Gigapan. I did have the unit on top of a pistol grip ball head, but would forgo using the grip and mounting the Gigapan directly on the tripod and level the whole thing by adjusting legs and column angle of the tripod.
