Description

Completed by artist Harry W. Scheuch in 1937, the Scottdale Post Office Mural is an example of one of Scheuch's few large-scale works. The mural occupies three of four walls of the building's interior hall. Two smaller murals (one seen here) occupy the shorter ends of the hall. This mural is intended to showcase industrial character of the area that was very much alive when this work was executed.

The Postmaster insisted that I not photograph the P.O. Boxes. The wooden element at the center is the detailing above the Postmater's door.
