  2. Big Rocks is a city park built around a rock formation along the banks of the Paluxy River in downtown Glen Rose, Texas. The rock formation covers an area perhaps the size of a football field.     I don't know much about the geology of this area, but it looks to me like there's differential weathering with joint surfaces being dissolved at a much faster rate than the rest of the rock. Could be karstic limestone, but I just don't see enough evidence to make a positive ID on that. Could alternatively be sandstone or maybe even granite.
