- Description
-
Otterton church demonstrates a wonderful array of local and less than local stone. The tower, which is considerably older than the rest of the building, is constructed from local Triassic aged sandstone. The gravestones are mostly Beer Stone. The main building is Ashburton limestone quarried from the southern edge of Dartmoor and the windows have been cut from Ham stone from Ham Hill on the Dorset/Somerset border near Yeovil.
