- Description
-
Portland Bill is a spectacular sight where the gently dipping Portland Limestone finally disappears below the sea. Most of the Bill has been quarried over a century ago and Pulpit rock is all that remains of the un-quarried geology. Two raised beaches date back to warm spells in the last Ice Age and the oldest one can be seen in the left of this image.
