Description

St George's Church was built between 1754 and 1766, using the world famous Portland Stone quarried from the Island. However, it fell into disrepair from the 1920’s onwards as a new church was built in Easton, a much more central location. In the 1960s the 'Friends of St George's Church' restored the building to its original glory.
