Comments on Gigapan: Palagonite and Pillows

  2. A roadcut through Columbia River Flood Basalts that were erupted into a shallow body of water. The basaltic lava interacted with the water to form both pillows and palagonite. Edi and Berti did a little rockclimbing here, too.
